Priyanka-Shahid affair cold as a turkey
Priyanka Chopra’s birthday was last Saturday on July 18th. Because she and Shahid Kapoor both had off on the 18th and 19th—neither of the dates were scheduled with any shootings, promotions or press—there was much speculation that the two would celebrate together despite recent rumors that the young stars had gone their own separate ways. Those rumors were put to rest when news recently broke that Shahid was not present at Priyanka’s birthday bash last Friday despite the presence of several of Priyanka’s cousins who flew in from London specifically for the occasion.
I have been a fan of Priyanka since I first saw her in the controversial Bollywood flick Fashion. Despite her character Meghna’s ups and downs in the movie, she manages to not only overcome her past modeling failure but also the death of her friend Shonali to successfully walk the ramp as the show stopper. While what happens on the screen is surely different from what happens in real life, I came to see Priyanka as a strong willed individual and I can only hope that she had a happy birthday even without her one time leading man.
